Tour from Fez 6 days program :

Day 1: Arrival at Fez

Upon arrival at Fez, we pick you up and transfer to the Medina (old city). We will spend the night in a Riad in the Medina of Fez.

Day 2: Visit of Fez with a local guide

After breakfast, a local guide will take you for a guided visit to explore the oldest imperial city in Morocco. Our visit will include, if time permits, Medersa (koranic school), Attarin, Bou-Inania, Quaraouiyine Mosque( the oldest university in all the world that was founded by Fatima Al-Fihria in the 9th century).

Also we will visit the Nejjarine Fountain and Museum, Bab Boujloud, the blue and green door. Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II, Chouwara tanneries that give you the feeling of travel back in time. The water clock dating from the 14th century, Souks and Traditional Ceramics and Merenid Tombs. Free afternoon to relax or to enjoy the rest of the day walking in the streets of the old Medina.

Accommodation for the night in a Riad.

Day 3: Fez – Ifrane – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

Pick up at 8 the morning at your hotel or Riad. After that we continue the 6 adys tour from Fez. We will take the road direction to Ifrane (Moroccan Switzerland). On arrival, we will make a stop to visit the city with its completely European style. Then we continue the road crossing the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas where a spacy of wild monkeys live. We will make a stop to allow you to take beautiful pictures of amazing landscapes that offers the area.

After that we will continue to Midelt. This city is famous for its apple trees. We will make a stop to take our lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch break, we will continue to the gorges of Ziz valley with thousands of date palms on board. We will pass through many typical Berber villages on the path to reach the city of Erfoud to visit a local fossil craft workshop. Then we continue to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi. An incredibly beautiful expanse of undulating dunes also known as the Dunes of Merzouga.

On arrival, camel ride to access to the desert camp to spend an unforgettable night in a Berber tent (khaima) in the middle of the great dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and night in the Sahara Desert Camp.

Day 4 : Tour of Merzouga – Visit of a nomad family – Rissani

In the morning after the breakfast, we will make a visit of Khamlia village. This village is famous for its Gnawa music native to the great African Sahara. We will visit some deserted mines and we will share a mint tea with Berber nomads in the oasis of palm trees. We will drive through the black desert (Hamada) on the path of the DAKAR Rally.

Then we will go to Rissani where you can walk through the most authentic and traditional souk in Morocco and the largest in the south of Morocco. In this market you will find all kinds of crafts, food and animals. The market days are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. We will eat madfouna (Berber stuffed pizza) in a a local family house. After that we will return to the dunes of Merzouga. At the end of the afternoon, we will ride camels to access the desert camp to spend the night in a well equipped tent under local music in the middle of the Sahara.

This is a great opportunity to take beautiful pictures of the magical sunset and also to explore the secrets of the Sahara and its limitless horizons.

Day 5: Merzouga – Todgha gorges – Dades gorges

We get up early the morning to see the magical sunrise. After that we take our breakfast at the camp. Then camel ride back to the Merzouga to meet your driver. The itinerary will take us to the Todra Gorges and the wonderful views that offer its canyons walls walking through them.

later We will continue our way through the Berber villages and palm groves along the path. We will make a stop on the road for break lunch in a local restaurant.

After this break, we will continue our path crossing the administrative city of Boumalen to reach the Dades Gorges where will spend this night of the 6 days tour from Fez in a charming hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 6 : The Dades gorges – Valley of roses – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Today after breakfast we will drive direction to Kelaa Mgouna (Valley of Roses) known for its festival of roses organized during April and May when you can buy a bouquet of roses. Thene will continue to Ouarzazate. This pearl is known as the Hollywood of Africa thanks to its film studios which host many international film productions.

We continue the path along the Ounila Valley and at about 40 kms from the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, we will reach the Kasbah of Telouet. An ancient road of the old caravans that link the Sahara to the Atlas Mountains . It was the seat of power of the El Glaoui family, King Moulay Hassan gave them a political power in the south of Morocco. The Glaoui was almost as powerful as the Sultan himself. The palace can still be visited, but it is increasingly damaged and is slowly collapsing. At 2010, work was underway to restore the property. If you have the opportunity to be here Thursday, you will visit a traditional souk in this Atlas village.

Lunch at the Atlas Mountains. After that we cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass to reach Marrakech late the afternoon or early the evening .
