Day 1: Arrival at Marrakech
We will be at your reception in Marrakech airport. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to the medina (old walled city). You will spend this night in a Riad in the medina of Marrakech.
Day 2: Marrakech guided tour
The morning after breakfast we start the activity of this journey dedicated to explore the red city Marrakech. The city Tour includes the following key sites, if time permits, based on a half day or a full day tour: Souks, Jewish Quarter, Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Minaret and Gardens, Saadian Tombs, Medersa Ben Youssef(School Koranic), apothecary (Berber pharmacy of spices, herbs and oils) and the Majorelle Gardens with a nice museum of Amazigh (Berber) costumes and jewelry. Half day free to enjoy the night in Jamaa el Fna square. Accommodation in the Riad.
Day 3: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat
The program of this journey of the imperial cities of Morocco 8 days trip leads us to the administrative capital of Morocco. We will take the road along the highway to Rabat with the possibility to visit the Hassan II Mosque and a walking tour and lunch on the Corniche of Casablanca. After lunch we will continue our trip to the political capital of Morocco Rabat to explore these highlights if time allows: Chellah necropolis, Royal Palace, (if we have the opportunity to enter), Kasbah of Oudayas, Hassan Tower and the tombs of The Royal Family. Accommodation in a Riad in the Medina of Rabat.
Day 4 :Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fez
The imperial cities of Morocco 8 days trip will continue. This day will take us to the famous imperial city of Meknes to discover its highlights. We will start our visit by Bab al Mansour Gate, the Moulay Ismail mausoleum, the Sahrej Souani granaries and the old prison that was built to house sailors Christians captured at sea by Moulay Ismail (1672- 1727). After lunch break at the terrace of a restaurant in the Medina, we will drive towards Volubilis, the ancient ruins and mosaics (free time to walk) the local guide is optional. After the visit of Volubilis, we will continue the way to Fez to spend the night in a Riad in the Medina.
Day 5: Fez guided tour
After breakfast, a local guide from Fez will accompany you explore the oldest imperial city in Morocco. Fez guided tour will include, if time permits, Medersa Attarin and Bou-Inania(koranic schools), Quaraouiyine Mosque wich is the oldest university in the world that was founded by Fatima Al Fihria in the 9th century, the Nejjarine fountain and museum, Bab Boujloud, the blue and green door, Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss II and Chouwara Tanneries that give feeling of having stepped back in time. We will also visit the water clock dating from the 14th century, Souks, Traditional Ceramics and Merenid Tombs.
Free afternoon to relax or to continue the exploration of this amazing city enjoying the streets of the old Medina. Accommodation for the night in a Riad.
Day 6: Fez – Ifrane – Atlas mountains– Ouzoud waterfalls
After breakfast, wew will start this journey of the imperial cities of Morocco 8 days trip. We take the road direction to the wonderful waterfalls of Ouzoud. On the way we wil pass through Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco thanks to the european typology of its houses. After that we will continue the road crossing the High Atlas Mountains and the beautiful green landscapes with its Berber villages. We will make a stop for lunch break in a local restaurant. After lunch we will continue driving to reach the Ouzoud waterfalls In the afternoon. These are the highest waterfalls in Morocco. Ouzoud is a popular campsite for Moroccans trying to escape the heat in the summer. The falls are at their best in spring when river flows are high. Dinner and overnight at a charming Auberge (mountain inn).
Day 7 : Ouzoud waterfalls – Marrakech
After breakfast, free morning for a short walk to allow you to discover the waterfalls in all their states and the panoramic views of the Berber villages around. After a delicious lunch near the waterfalls, we drive towards the Atlas Mountains to reach the red city of Marrakech in the afternoon. We will spend the night in a Riad in the Medina.
Day 8: Transfer to Marrakech airport
The morning after breakfast we will take you to Marrakech airport wishing you a welcome back home.
