The Fez to Merzouga 3 days tour program :
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz valley – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga
We will pick you up from your riad/hotel and then we drive south to Ifrane and Azrou through the Middle Atlas Mountains. On the way, we will make a stop at the cedar forests to see a spacy of wild monkeys that live in thouse forests. After that we will continue the path through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass to reach the city of Midelt and along the magnificent Ziz gorges carved with the volcanic rocks.
The path offers multiple views of the Middle Atlas Plateau and amazing landscapes . When arriving to Errachidia we will make a stop for lunch break. After lunch, we will continue the activity of this journey of our trip through the Ziz Valley towards Erfoud the world capital of fossils and fossilized marble, Rissani the origin of Alaouite dynasty and the capital of Sijilmassa to arrive to Merzouga.
Upon arrival at Merzouga we will take a cup of tea with mint and after that we will leave our luggage in a secure room and then take a camel ride to access to the Berber camp in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes which are the highest sand dunes in North Africa to spend this night of our trip. The camel trekking takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes . The tents are well equipped with mattresses, blankets and cushions. Enjoy an unforgettable night under the rythms of traditional Berber drums and under the stars.
Día 2: Merzouga – Todra gorges – the Dades valley
We will get up early to enjoy the magical sunrise from top of the great dunes and then camel ride back to the hotel. After a shower and the breakfast we will take the road direction to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges to arrive at the Dades Valley where we will spend this night of our desert trip. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 3: the Dades valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Hight Atlas mountains – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate following the path of the thousand Kasbahs. The path offers the opportunity to take beautiful pictures for memories. We will visit the valley of Roses and the village of Skoura then we will continue to Ouarzazat, «the Hollywood of Africa». We will stop for lunch in the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This Kasbah is the largest one in Morocco.
After a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, our journey will continue through the majestic Tizi nTichka Pass, with an altitude of 2260m above the High Atlas Mountains. We will make a stop to enjoy the amazing views and to visit an argan oil cooperative. After that we will continue driving to arrive at Marrakech at the end of the afternoon.
