Day 1: Arrival at Ouarzazate
Upon arrival at the airport of Ouarzazate, we will pick you up to the hotel. We will spend the first night of this trip in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Valley of roses– Todgha gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga (Desert camp)
After breakfast we will take the road direction to Merzouga to reach the great dunes of Erg Chebbi. Along the route we will pass through Kelaa Mgouna (Valley of Roses, where the festival of roses is organized every year in April and May). We will pass through many Berber villages and cities such as Boumalne Dades and Todgha Gorges to enjoy their wonderful panoramic views of the Canyons while we walk. We will continue our way through palm groves. We will make a stop on the road for luncht at local restaurant.
After that we will arrive to the city of Erfoud to visit a local fossil workshop. Then we will continue to the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi. An incredibly beautiful extension of the undulating dunes. Thouse dunes are also known as the Dunes of Merzouga. On arrival, Camel ride to access to the desert camp in the middle of thouse great dunes to spend this night in a nomadic tent with Berber music. It will be a real opportunity to take beautiful pictures for the magical sunset and to explore the secrets of the Sahara and its limitless horizons.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Tazarine – Valley of Draa – Ouarzazate
If you get up early enough the morning, you will be able to see the spectacular sunrise. The color of the dunes and the shape of the shadows combine in an incredible sight. We will continue our path to Rissani where we will walk through its well-known souk, the most authentic and traditional and also the largest one in southern Morocco. In this Souk will find all kinds of handicrafts, food and animals. Then we will continue to the Draa Valley passing through the village of Tazzarine (featured in the movie «Babel»). After that we will continue our adventure to reach the wild desert to have a picnic under the shade of an acacia (‘wild cooking’ class included).
In the afternoon, the journey will take us along the old caravans road to discover the real Draa Valley with its huge palm trees and old villages. Our day ends in Ouarzazate. Dinner and accommodation in a charming Riad.
